Reading data messages
If you receive a message in the databox connected to the Citizen Portal and you open the databox but do not open the received message, the message is considered delivered in this case as well. All you have to do is log in. Basically, it's the same as if you saw a letter in your mailbox but deliberately didn't pick it up.
Notification is the easiest way to find out about a data message in time and not miss any important deadlines. They are completely free and you can receive them in your email or by text message.
What you need
- Databox connected to the Citizen Portal
- Be a citizen of the Czech Republic or a foreigner with a residence permit in the Czech Republic
How to do it
Just go to the databox settings in the Citizen Portal, click on the data box for which you want to activate notifications.
Under the archiving switch, you will find the sentence "To be notified of incoming data messages, set up notifications: set up".
Click on "Set up" and fill in the necessary information to send notifications.

What to be aware of
If you activate the function of forwarding data messages to your e-mail, pay particular attention to the legal deadlines. This feature will cause forwarded messages to be considered delivered and therefore read. This includes messages that normally have a 10-day delivery period.
