Reading data messages

mobile appweb environment

There is no reading like reading, so let's explain how it is with data messages. If a message arrives in your inbox and you don't open it within 10 days, it is considered delivered and therefore read after that period. The same applies to registered letters in your own hand. If you do not pick up the letter at the post office, it will be dropped in your mailbox and is thus legally deemed to have been delivered.

Is this service available in the app?

This service is available on the Citizen's Portal mobile app, so you can use it directly.

If you receive a message in the databox connected to the Citizen Portal and you open the databox but do not open the received message, the message is considered delivered in this case as well. All you have to do is log in. Basically, it's the same as if you saw a letter in your mailbox but deliberately didn't pick it up.

Notification is the easiest way to find out about a data message in time and not miss any important deadlines. They are completely free and you can receive them in your email or by text message.

What to be aware of

If you activate the function of forwarding data messages to your e-mail, pay particular attention to the legal deadlines. This feature will cause forwarded messages to be considered delivered and therefore read. This includes messages that normally have a 10-day delivery period.
